BSI are looking to develop trust tests as a conceptLack of consistency and increasingly complex systems and practices are blockers to building successful working relationships.

At a recent BSI meeting, stakeholders in public and private procurement spoke about how it could help to have a common definition formed around public procurement processes: something that could potentially become 'trust tests'.

Some of the broad principles which trust tests might embody could include:

  • Help in procuring innovation – i.e. specifying the outcomes required rather than the detail of getting there, so that it is easier to measure throughout the procurement cycle and to be able to assess whether a project has been delivered according to agreement
  • Developing the right indicators of risk – a trust test could help focus on this important area for the supply chain
  • Help in developing an overarching vision for the UK in this area – i.e. helping to put across the message that enterprise can be a force for good in society

Trust tests could be on their way soon and will need to be scoped out. Have your say. Join the LinkedIn conversation.
