John Jeans – Life Science Champion, UK Government – gave his top six questions that innovators should address for novel medical technology.
- How will this innovation significantly change or improve standard of care or a patient’s clinical pathway?
- What will be the positive economic, social and clinical cost of this change?
- How can you prove it?
- What workflow processes will need to change?
- How will these changes be resourced?
- How can this be applied across hospitals and across countries?
Jeans was speaking at the UK HealthTech Conference (1 December 2015, Cardiff, Wales).
He said that it’s possible that new incentives can be put in place to stimulate and to encourage adoption of new initiatives and health tech.
“It’s only the innovators who can address these questions in a comprehensive and reasonable way”, he added.
