Join us at the 2022 BSI Standards Conference and Awards to celebrate standards as tools for building trust as we consider today’s critical focus areas of People, Planet and Digitalization.
On 16 and 17 November, we’ll be meeting virtually (16th) and in-person (17th).
We’ll be hearing from top keynote speaker, Dr Wayne Visser, Professor of Integrated Value and Holder of the Chair in Sustainable Innovation at Antwerp Management School. Dr Visser is a strategy analyst, sustainability advisor, CSR expert, futurist, filmmaker and professional speaker with professional experience spanning over 30 years. He is the author of "Thriving: The Breakthrough Movement to Regenerate Nature, Society and the Economy".
At the conference, he will be exploring trust, sustainability, thriving and spreading positivity.
And, of course, we will be announcing the winners of the 2022 BSI Standards Awards, both Standards Makers and Standards Users.
Here’s what’s coming up over the two days:
Day 1 (16 Nov)
Online, live, ten interactive focus sessions and webinars taking a look at some specific aspects of our conference theme and focus areas.
• Runs from 9:30-17:30
• Virtual focus sessions and webinars
Two of the sessions will be skills-based sessions delivered by an external trainer
Sessions will explore current and emerging standards and the benefits to organizations of using or adopting these standards (what using the standards help organizations achieve) and how and with whom the standards can help organizations build trust.

ISO 22358 - Consumer trusts and standards - Julie Hunter and Ceri Stanaway
ISO/ TC 283 - OH&S standards - Martin Cottam and Sally Swingewood
Day 2 (17 Nov)
An in-person event at the Park Plaza Victoria in London, featuring:
• Keynote speakers
• High-level panel discussions
• Plenty of discussion and Q&A with the audience
• Networking
• Knowledge Marketplace Exhibition
Day 2 will bring a more strategic, big picture point of view on standards and trust and the impact of standards especially in the areas People, Planet and Digitalization.
Unique new feature: interactive workshop
This new interactive workshop session will give delegates pre-event access to 4 standards which you will be able to explore and think about before the event. Then, the workshop will be preceded by a presentation about how standards (generally) enable trust.
The four standards that will be explored are:
* PAS 808:2022 Purpose-driven organizations. Worldviews, principles and behaviours for delivering sustainability. Guide
• BS EN ISO 50005:2022 Energy management systems. Guidelines for a phased implementation
• BS ISO 37000:2021 Governance of organizations. Guidance
• BS Flex 8670 v3.0 Built environment – Core criteria for building safety in competence frameworks – Code of practice
After that, delegates will be divided into groups to explore and discuss a standard and:
• What using/adopting the standard can help their organization achieve
• How and with whom using/adopting it can help them build trust
• Where are there other opportunities to develop similar standards to help build trust
The climax of the two days will be an awards ceremony to recognize the winners of our 2022 BSI Standards Awards We look forward to seeing you there.
