December’s Update Standards highlights include:
Two medical electrical equipment safety standards are now more usable
We’ve now published two amended standards:
BS EN 60601-1:2006+A2:2021 Medical electrical equipment - Part 1: General requirements for basic safety and essential performance.
BS EN 60601-1-2:2015+A1:2021 Medical electrical equipment – Part 1-2: General requirements for basic safety and essential performance – Electromagnetic disturbances – Requirements and tests.
Both specify requirements that ensure the basic safety and essential performance of medical electrical equipment and systems.
BS 7273-4:2015+A1:2021 Code of practice for the operation of fire protection measures
It’s now time to get the amended fire door release mechanism standard.
BS 7273-4:2015+A1:2021 covers the electrical control arrangements for activating mechanisms that unlock, release or open doors in the event of fire. It covers any buildings, including dwellings, unless otherwise stated. This standard will improve safety, increase trust in products and better manage associated risk.
The revised alloyed ingot specification is available
The European standard on alloyed ingots for remelting has been revised to bring it up to date with industry needs. BS EN 1676:2020 Aluminium and aluminium alloys – Alloyed ingots for remelting – Specifications defines requirements for grades of alloyed aluminium
ingots intended for remelting.
